Thermal (ECO & TOP)

Paper labels for direct thermal printing: the print appears without a ribbon as the thermal layer reacts to heat from the print head.

  • Used for fast marking in retail, logistics, warehouse work, food production, medicine, and pharma.
  • Available in standard or custom sizes, roll windings, and adhesive systems: permanent, high-tack, or removable
  • Thermal ECO is the economical choice for short-life labels: price labels, promo labels, perishable goods, and temporary warehouse marking.
  • Thermal TOP is selected when the label needs better resistance to moisture, grease, UV exposure, abrasion, and a longer readable life.

For aggressive chemicals, long water contact, or severe frost, film-based solutions are a better fit.

Semi-gloss labels

Paper labels for thermal transfer printing: the image is transferred from a ribbon, so the marking is more stable and durable than direct thermal printing.

  • Used for logistics, warehouse accounting, barcode marking, retail, merchandising, production, food, medicine, and archive workflows.
  • Can be produced in standard formats or custom sizes, shapes, and color options.
  • The adhesive is matched to the surface and operating conditions: permanent acrylic, high-tack rubber, or removable.
  • A strong choice for paper-based marking of goods, tags, packaging, documents, and industrial identification.

If the label will constantly contact water, oils, chemicals, or severe cold, film labels are usually the safer material.

Thermal films

Film materials for direct thermal printing when paper thermal labels are not strong enough in moisture resistance, durability, or package stability

  • Used with thermal printers and weighing equipment when printing must work without a ribbon but the substrate needs to be stronger than paper.
  • Suitable for packaging, warehouse and logistics processes, and products with higher moisture or mechanical resistance requirements.
  • Available with custom size, shape, winding, and adhesive system for a specific surface.
  • Material selection depends on the printer, storage temperature, humidity, service life, and barcode readability requirements.

For maximum durability, chemical resistance, and long service life, use film-based thermal transfer labels with a ribbon.

Film labels

Thermal transfer labels on synthetic substrates: polyester, polypropylene, or polyethylene plus ribbon printing for high resistance.

  • Used where labels face water, oils, fats, solvents, vibration, abrasion, sunlight, or temperature changes.
  • Suitable for automotive parts, chemicals, electronics, industrial equipment, freezer storage, and outdoor use.
  • Ribbon choice is critical: PET and PP often need a Resin ribbon for maximum adhesion and print durability.
  • White, colored, and transparent films are available, including nearly invisible labels for clean package aesthetics.

For dry indoor use and short service life, film can be excessive. Paper or Thermal ECO/TOP may be more practical.

If the printer works without a ribbon, start with Thermal ECO/TOP or thermal films. If the print needs ribbon durability, choose semi-gloss paper or film-based thermal transfer labels.
